The Eastern Regional Football Association (ERFA) has commended Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and the Executive Council for their visionary leadership and commitment to youth development through the “Power to the Youth” initiative.
This follows the region’s historic victory in the maiden MTN Elite U19 Championship. Eastern Region beat Brong Ahafo Region on penalties on Sunday to clinch the trophy, marking a proud milestone in their youth football history.
In a statement signed by Chairman Lindford Boadu Asamoah, ERFA described the triumph as a direct outcome of President Simeon-Okraku’s bold vision to transform youth football in Ghana through structured opportunities and nationwide talent development programmes.
"This remarkable achievement is a direct reflection of the GFA President, Mr Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku’s visionary initiative, âPower to the Youth’, which continues to empower young footballers across the country with opportunities to showcase their talent and gain national recognition," the statement read.
ERFA also expressed deep appreciation to the GFA’s Executive Council and the Planning and Organising Committee for their “exemplary leadership and the successful organisation of a landmark tournament.”
According to the Association, the GFA’s commitment to youth football development remains a strong source of motivation for all Regional Football Associations, inspiring them to build sustainable pathways for emerging talents.
