Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito has attributed his side's defeat to Wydad Athletic Club in the CAF Confederation Cup to costly mistakes.
The Porcupine Warriors suffered a 1-0 defeat against the Moroccan side in the first leg of the second round of the preliminary round of games on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Joseph Bakasu's second half strike was enough for Wydad to secure the needed win.
Reflecting on the game, Zito attributed the defeat to mistakes his side committed during the game which affected them.
“This is the game of football, sometimes certain things happen beyond your control. I think along the line there were some mistakes that affected us," he said.
"Anything can happen when we go there and we are not going there as losers but we are going there to play well and play better than what we did here," Zito added.
Asante Kotoko will be hosted in the return leg on Friday, October 24 with kick-off scheduled at 19:00 GMT.
