Asante Kotoko have announced ticket prices for their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup second-round clash against Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco, scheduled for Sunday, October 19, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Tickets for the high-profile encounter have been pegged at GHS 50 for both the Popular Stand and Centre Line, while fans wishing to sit in the VIP section will pay GHS 200.
Kotoko had initially planned to host the match at their traditional home, the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, but the Confederation of African Football (CAF) declined to approve the venue following an inspection. This decision forced the Porcupine Warriors to move the fixture to Accra, where they also hosted their first-round match against Kwara United of Nigeria.
Despite the venue setback, club officials remain hopeful of a strong turnout, with ticket prices designed to encourage maximum fan support.
Kotoko advanced to this stage after defeating Kwara United 5-3 on aggregate, continuing their impressive unbeaten run this season. However, they face a much sterner test against Wydad, one of Africa’s most experienced clubs.
The Moroccan side, who participated in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup in the United States earlier this year, are expected to pose a major challenge with their pedigree and quality.
Kotoko coach Karim Zito is expected to rely on the momentum his side has built in domestic and continental competitions as they seek to secure a first-leg advantage before the return encounter in Casablanca.
Kotoko have urged supporters to fill the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday and rally behind the team as they continue their quest for continental glory.
