Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil continued his impressive run of form in the Major League Soccer (MLS) after finding the back of the net in LA Galaxy’s 2-1 victory over Minnesota United FC on Saturday night at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
The 26-year-old attacker was once again at the heart of Galaxy’s attacking brilliance, scoring the club’s second goal to seal all three points for the home side.
Brazilian youngster Matheus Nascimento opened the scoring for Galaxy in the 12th minute, calmly slotting home after a well-worked team move.
Paintsil doubled the lead shortly after the break with a sensational solo effort, picking the ball from midfield before driving past two defenders and rifling a low strike beyond the goalkeeper, which struck the framework before he connected the rebound.
Minnesota pulled one back through Argentine midfielder Joaquin Perreyra in added time, but it proved too late to deny the Galaxy their deserved victory.
The goal was Paintsil’s 10th in the MLS this season, adding to five assists in 25 league appearances.
Across all competitions, he has now contributed 14 goals and six assists in the 2025 campaign - underlining his vital role in LA Galaxy’s push for the playoffs.
