Sports Minister Kofi Adams has declared that Ghana's Black Stars will not merely participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup but will aim to make a significant impact on the global stage.
Speaking after Ghana's 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic, the Buem MP stated that the team's performance shows renewed purpose and determination.
He emphasised that Ghana's goal is to be competitive and restore the pride the country enjoyed during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
"I think this time around also, we will not just go to the World Cup to just add to the numbers," Adams stated. "We want to go there and let people feel our presence just the same way they did in South Africa in 2010. We want the world to feel our presence."
The emphatic victory against CAR puts Ghana just one point away from qualification for the 2026 tournament.
The team's dominant performance, including four second-half goals, has reinforced hopes of a strong comeback on the world stage after years of struggling to replicate their 2010 quarter-final success.
