Medeama midfielder Prince Owusu memorably marked his 21st birthday by making his senior debut for the Black Stars in their emphatic 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic at the Stade d’Honneur in Meknes on Wednesday.
Owusu came off the bench in the second half as Ghana cruised to a commanding win, with Mohammed Salisu, Alexander Djiku, Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, and Kamaldeen Sulemana all on target.
The skilful midfielder, noted for his composure and close control, had little to do given the game’s state but will cherish the moment as a significant milestone in his career.
Owusu will now be aiming to earn more minutes when Ghana face Comoros on Sunday in Accra, where the Black Stars need just a point to confirm qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be staged in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
