Ghana head coach Otto Addo has named a strong starting XI for Wednesday’s decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic, with Thomas Partey and Kwasi Sibo once again pairing in midfield.
Partey, who impressed in the last match against Mali, will reprise his central role alongside Sibo as the Black Stars aim to take a major step toward securing qualification for their fifth World Cup appearance.
Addo has also entrusted Mohammed Kudus with the playmaking duties just behind a dynamic attacking trio of Antoine Semenyo, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and captain Jordan Ayew.
Benjamin Asare retains his spot between the posts, while Caleb Yirenkyi, Gideon Mensah, Salisu Mohammed, and Alexander Djiku make up the defensive line tasked with keeping the hosts at bay.
Victory in Meknes would move Ghana closer to confirming their place at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Black Stars currently sit atop Group I with 19 points, three clear of second-placed Madagascar, and could seal automatic qualification depending on other results.
The West Africans, four-time World Cup participants, have won six of their eight qualifiers so far, combining solid defence with attacking efficiency.
Wednesday’s fixture, set for 16:00 GMT at the Stade D’Honneur de Meknes, presents an opportunity for Addo’s side to underline their dominance in the group and take a decisive step toward North America 2026.
