The Black Stars of Ghana are on the brink of qualifying for a fifth FIFA World Cup tournament.
The four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions head into the final round of the qualifying series on top of Group I, needing four points to book a spot in next year’s global showpiece.
On Wednesday, Ghana takes on the Central African Republic at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknes in a crucial encounter that could seal the qualification for the Black Stars if they win and results from the other matches go in their favour.
Knowing exactly what’s at stake, coach Otto Addo and his technical staff will have to map up a strategy to overcome the Central African Republic to better their chances of booking a place at the mundial.
Coach Otto Addo and his technical team will be counting on several key players, including captain Jordan Ayew, Tottenham Hotspur sensation Mohammed Kudus, red-hot Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo and others.
Ghana are on top of Group I with 19 points, followed by Madagascar and Comoros, who have 16 and 15 points respectively.
Although it will be tough, the Black Stars are full of confidence heading into the match.
According to coach Otto Addo, his boys are motivated and ready to give their all to secure the victory against the Central African Republic.
Today’s clash is scheduled to kick off at 4 pm before the Black Stars return to Ghana to host Comoros in their final qualifiers on October 12.
