The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially unveiled Ghanaian tactician Laryea Kingston as the new Head Coach of all Uganda National Men’s Football Junior Teams on a two-year contract.
The announcement was made today by FUFA CEO Edgar Watson in Kampala.
Kingston, a former Ghana international, holds both a UEFA A and CAF B coaching license, bringing a blend of experience and technical expertise to Ugandan youth football.
Before this appointment, he managed the Ghana U17 national team and had a successful stint with FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark, where he was part of the club’s Right to Dream Academy structure, known for nurturing young African talent.
He succeeds fellow Ghanaian Samuel Kwesi Fabin, who previously coached Uganda’s U17 and U20 national sides in 2019.
Kingston’s appointment signals FUFA’s continued trust in Ghanaian coaches to shape the future of Ugandan football through structured youth development.
Meanwhile, Brian Ssenyondo will retain his role as head coach of the Uganda U17 team as they prepare for next month’s FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar.
Ssenyondo has already indicated that this will be his final assignment at that level, though he remains open to future roles within the national team setup.
Kingston’s arrival is expected to inject fresh energy and a modern tactical approach into Uganda’s junior teams, as the country continues its long-term project to develop world-class football talent.
