Black Stars coach Otto Addo has expressed his delight at the successful return of Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Alidu Seidu from long-term injuries, welcoming both players back into the national team ahead of Ghana's crucial World Cup qualifiers.
The two players had been sidelined for several months with anterior cruciate ligament injuries but have now regained fitness and form with their respective clubs. Issahaku has been featuring for Leicester City, while Seidu has returned to action with Stade Rennes.
"I’m very happy for them," Addo stated. "You can’t take it for granted to come back strong as they have from what I saw from their games. They really deserve it to be back⦠they are doing well in their league, so I’m very happy for them to be back."
Ghana faces Central African Republic on October 8 in Morocco before hosting Comoros on October 12 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A victory in either match would secure Ghana's qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
