Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Lomotey scored the decisive goal as Ethnikos Achnas secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Krasava Ypsonas FC in the Cyprus League.
Lomotey, who started and played the full match, broke the deadlock in the 77th minute with a well-timed strike that sent the home fans into celebration. His goal proved to be the difference in a tightly contested Round 6 clash at the Dasaki Stadium.
The first half saw few chances from either side, with both teams struggling to create clear openings. After the break, Ethnikos Achnas began to push forward more confidently, with substitute Marios Pechlivanis adding energy in attack. Lomotey’s effort came after sustained pressure, rewarding his side’s persistence.
Krasava Ypsonas tried to respond late on but failed to capitalize, even missing a penalty in the closing minutes through Nicolas Andereggen.
Lomotey’s impressive form continues, taking his tally to two goals in six league appearances this season. Ethnikos Achnas will now shift focus to their upcoming clash against Pafos FC, aiming to build on this important win.
