Asante Kotoko will reportedly host their CAF Confederation Cup first-leg tie against Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, following provisional approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The clearance, according to club sources, comes after a CAF inspection team assessed the venue’s readiness for continental competition and was satisfied with the improvements made.
This development allows Kotoko to return to their traditional home ground after previously being forced to play against Kwara United at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The crucial first-leg encounter is scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2025, with the return fixture to be played a week later in Morocco.
Kotoko reached this stage after a solid performance in the preliminary round, winning 4â3 away and 1â0 at home against their Nigerian opponents.
