Black Stars attacker Mohammed Kudus has snubbed all Ghanaian greats picking former Nigeria star Augustine Azuka “Jay-Jay” Okocha as his greatest African player.
Despite missing out on the prestigious African Footballer of the Year during is playing days, Kudus believes, the former Fenerbahce and Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder.
With Ghana legends like Abedi Ayew ‘Pele’ winning the award three times in a row as well as other notable players like Asamoah Gyan and Michael Essien who went closer to winning the award, Kudus was focused on entertaining players like Okocha served fans with it.
“I’ll say say Okocha [Jay Jay]. [Because I have that flair] exactly. Explaining in my lens how I see creative players and trying to entertain the game. That can never be washed away. The fans can never forget the experience and your entertainment you give them on the pitch.
Kudus says his style is synonymous with the former Super Eagles star and his admiration is inspired by his uniqueness on the pitch transcending beyond football basics.

“I know now goals and assists are important and stuff like that but I like creative players and players that like to entertain the fans. Try to do something different than what everyone is doing than just passing the ball.”

Just like Okocha, Mohammed Kudus has carved a niche for himself as an entertainer in the game. Despite only joining the Premier League at the beginning of the season, the 23-year-old has already emerged as the player with the most dribbles underscoring his determination to leave fans with memories of captivating footballing skills.
The former Ajax man has also added goals to his game already scoring 13 goals for the Hammers in all competitions and becoming the highest-scoring Gahnaina for West Ham.
