Lommel SK sporting director Jeffrey van As says the club is eager to see Ghanaian defender Henry Oware continue his growth after the 21-year-old signed a contract extension until mid-2028.
The new agreement, which includes an option for an additional year, secures the player’s long-term future and underlines Lommel’s confidence in his progress.
“Henry is a talented central defender who has fought his way into the starting lineup this season,” van As said after the deal was confirmed.
“Despite his young age, he has already gained a lot of experience at our club. We want to continue developing him in the coming years and look forward with great confidence and positivity to the future together with him at Lommel SK.”
Oware arrived at the Belgian club in January 2024 from French Ligue 2 side ESTAC Troyes, having earlier been signed from Ghanaian outfit WAFA SC.
His move came at a crucial point in his development, and within a season and a half he has established himself as a reliable presence at the heart of the defence.
This season, his composure on the ball and tactical awareness have earned praise, while his consistency has made him one of Lommel’s most trusted players.
