Morgan Fassbender brought early joy to Termalica Nieciecza fans with a fine assist, though his side eventually fell 4-2 to Piast Gliwice in an action-filled Ekstraklasa clash.
The German-Ghanaian attacker showed his sharp vision in the ninth minute, threading a pass that Damian Hilbrycht converted to put Termalica ahead. Fassbender, lively on the wing, kept the visitors moving forward and was at the heart of several bright moments before being substituted after 61 minutes.
Termalica doubled their lead through Andrzej Trubeha, but Piast’s response was ruthless. Adrián Dalmau pulled one back before halftime and momentum swung after the break. Leandro Sanca equalized, Juande Rivas fired home to make it 3-2, and despite Dalmau’s late red card, Erik Jirka sealed the win deep into stoppage time.
The result leaves Termalica frustrated after a promising start. Fassbender now has two goals and an assist in 10 league appearances this season.
Termalica will regroup quickly as they prepare to face Widzew Åódź on October 4.
