
Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has congratulated the University for Development Studies for winning the 2025 FISU University World Cup Football.
The Tamale-based University came from behind to secure a dramatic 2-1 late victory over Brazil’s Paulista University in the men’s final on Sunday, claiming the trophy from the defending champions.
Reacting to the team’s triumph, Sports Minister Kofi Adams, in a post on Facebook, has congratulated the University for Development Studies and their coach for making Ghana and Africa proud.
“Congratulations UDS. Congratulations coach Tanko, you promised and you have delivered. You represented Ghana and Africa well. Congratulation, Congratulation, Congratulation,” he wrote on Facebook.
After their triumph on the world stage, the University for Development Studies has put Ghana on the map, flying the flag of the country very high.
Ghanaians have been impressed with the performance of the team at this year’s FISU University World Cup Football, with many taking to social media to celebrate their achievement.
