Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito believes his side’s clash with Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League came at the right time, serving as a valuable test before they face Kwara United in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Kotoko begin their continental journey on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 3 pm. For Zito, the build-up has been about finding rhythm and polishing details from preseason.
Speaking in his pre-match interview, Zito explained how the Chelsea game helped shape his preparations.
"We are fighting to put things together luckily, we are just from preseason and we tested our energy against Berekum and then we saw where we went right and then where we went wrong. So we are here to polish it before meeting Kwara United we are set," he said
"If I come out to tell you all what I knew about them it means I am exposing myself am also making them see my preparation or my intention towards them. But I think they played three matches before or four matches before coming down here,"
