Former Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara has predicted a great future for Ghana Premier League champions, Bibiani Goldstars.
The Miners are gearing up for their maiden CAF Champions League campaign after merging as winners in the 2024/25 league season, dethroning Samartex 1996. In a season marked by resilience, consistency, and tactical brilliance, Goldstars rose to the summit of Ghana's top flight for the very first time, crowning a campaign that will be remembered for years to come.
Ouattara was in attendance when Bibiani Goldstars thumped lower-tier side Young Talent in a preseason friendly clash on Wednesday.
Assessing Goldstars’ preparation, Ouattara, who now serves as the technical advisor to the Hearts of Oak board has tipped the club for greatness.
“This is a preseason game, you cannot make any judgement now. They possessed the ball well and for me, the future is bright for Goldstars. Per what I saw, I believe the team can go far in Africa” he said.
Meanwhile, the Ivorian trainer has eulogized Bibiani Goldstars for winning the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title.
“Goldstars defeated us twice in the league. They are currently the champions domestically. They’ve really done well because not every team can be a champion in Ghana” he concluded.
