
The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has congratulated its member Kurt Okraku on his election to the CAF Executive Committee.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, who stood unopposed on the ticket of WAFU Zone B, was confirmed earlier this week during the 14th CAF General Assembly in Cairo.
He becomes only the sixth Ghanaian to secure a seat in CAFs top decision-making body.
In a statement, SWAG described his achievement as a proud moment for both the association and Ghanaian football.
SWAG is proud to have members who have distinguished themselves in their fields and are making significant contributions to the development of sports in Ghana, the statement read.
The association extended its best wishes to Okraku and expressed confidence in his ability to contribute meaningfully to African football governance.
Okraku, who has served as GFA President since 2019, continues to rise on the continental stage, even as critics argue that Ghanaian football is in decline.
