As the country continues to accelerate efforts toward economic inclusivity, the 2025 edition of the Women in Business (WIB) Dialogue Series is set to provide a dynamic platform to empower women entrepreneurs, innovators, and changemakers across sectors.
The highly anticipated event, organised by the Business and Financial Times (B&FT), is taking place today, March 18, 2025, at the Lancaster City Hotel, Kumasi, under the theme: “Creating an Inclusive Economy – Scaling Jobs for Women through Agriculture, Entrepreneurship & Technology.”
This year’s dialogue series seeks to amplify critical conversations around building sustainable and inclusive economic opportunities for women, especially in the areas of agriculture and technology.
The forum will convene over 150 participants, including smallholder farmers, women-led Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, market queens, young women in tech, and students — all coming together to explore innovative strategies for job creation and business scalability.
Speaking ahead of the event, Dr. Godwin Acquaye, CEO of B&FT, emphasised the importance of harnessing the potential of women as economic drivers.
“Women continue to play a vital role in shaping Ghana’s informal and formal economies. However, barriers to finance, market access, and digital innovation persist. This dialogue series aims to inspire practical solutions and spotlight the transformative role of agriculture and technology in bridging those gaps,” he said.
The event will feature a special address by Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister, and a keynote address from Dr. Daniel McKorley, Executive Chairman of the McDan Group.
A highlight of the event will be the plenary session, themed: “Leveraging Technological Innovations to Empower Women: Strategies for Improving Access to Market and Finance.” The panel discussion will feature industry leaders and experts from the banking, legal, academic, and agribusiness sectors.

Additionally, the event will feature an exhibition of Made-in-Ghana products and services, showcasing the creativity and resilience of local entrepreneurs, and providing participants with the opportunity to network, explore partnerships, and connect with service providers.
The Women in Business Dialogue Series aligns with national and global development goals to reduce gender-based inequalities, promote inclusive economies, and support sustainable livelihoods.
As women-owned businesses continue to contribute significantly to the growth of Ghana’s economy — making up 46.4percent of all MSMEs (GSS, 2020) — platforms such as the WIB Dialogue Series remain vital in propelling policy conversations into real impact.
The World Bank (2019) also notes that women represent 58% of self-employed individuals in Sub-Saharan Africa, yet they face systemic barriers to growth and sustainability.
With this year’s focus on scaling jobs through innovation and inclusion, stakeholders and participants alike are poised for a high-impact dialogue that could reshape the trajectory of women’s economic empowerment in Ghana and beyond.
The WIB Dialogue Series is sponsored by Ecobank, Stanbic Bank, GCB Bank, Achieve by Petra, GLICO Life Insurance, Association of Ghana Industries, Agrihouse, World vision, Lancaster Hotel, Atwima Kwanwoma Rural Bank PLC and Ghana National Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
