GFA reminds Premier League clubs to submit directors for Autonomous League Board
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has issued a reminder to all Premier League clubs to nominate a Director to represent them on the Autonomous Premier League Board.The Implementation Committee, led by His Majesty Togbe Afede XIV, has urged clubs to fulfil this requirement as the league transitions into full autonomy.The Autonomous Premier League Limited has already been registered as a company under Ghanaian law, with bank accounts opened to facilitate operations.The GFA has officially handed over the Autonomous Premier League to the clubs, with the Implementation Committee set to be replaced by directors from all 18 clubs. This marks a crucial phase in the shift towards club-led management of the league.The Autonomous Premier League, a key initiative of GFA President Kurt Okraku, has been backed by the Executive Council. However, for the past two seasons, clubs have requested the GFAs continued oversight while they prepare to assume full control.The Football Association remains committed to seeing the implementation through and is eager for clubs to take the next step in managing the league independently.
