
… as he pledges to make Kwahuman great again

Approximately 40 days after taking an oath as Paramount Chief for Kwahu Traditional Area, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III, was outdoored to the Kwahuman in a ceremony marked by the beautiful Kwahu tradition, culture, royalty and acclamation.
The grand durbar, held in Kwahu-Abene, the seat of governance for the Kwahu Traditional Council, brought together high-profile chiefs, dignitaries, and citizens from across the country to witness the historic event.
The vibrant display of Kwahuman royal regalia, culture, and heritage, coupled with the peaceful merrymaking occasion, presented satisfactory remarks about the people’s acceptance of their new leader who pledged to deliver transformative development initiatives for the area in his affable but resolute demeanour.
Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III, dressed in his rich traditional regalia, was introduced to the Kwahuman amidst drumming, dancing, and acclamation, underscoring the unity and pride of the Kwahu people as they rallied behind their new leader.
Daasebre’s Pledge to Kwahuman
In his coronation address, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support and pledged to work tirelessly to restore Kwahu to its former glory.
He highlighted briefly his vision for the traditional area, emphasizing education, economic empowerment, and infrastructure development as key priorities. He also called for collaboration among all stakeholders, including the youth, elders, and government, to achieve these goals.
“I am deeply honoured to be the chosen one to lead Kwahuman to the next level and make Kwahu great again. I believe that working together, we will embark on a journey of development, unity, and progress to ensure that our beloved Kwahu thrives in all aspects,” he said.
In a leadership by example manner, Daasebre indicated that the traditional council has made available about 200 acres of land for the development of the Kwahuman farms that will be cultivated with state-of-the-art technology and auxiliary facilities to create jobs and ensure food security of the people of Kwahu.
“Kwahuman wants to assure the government of Ghana that we will be the food basket of the country and feed the nation. In the fulfilment of that, the Abene leaders have donated 200 acres of land to this course of which about 120 acres has already been ploughed for cultivation purposes. This is to also motivate the youth to also follow the same path,” he pledged.
Daasebre further mentioned that beyond agriculture, higher level education, industrial work and other skilled labour work opportunities will be created for the hardworking youth to be resourceful.
Dignitaries Present
The durbar was graced by prominent figures, including government officials, traditional leaders from neighbouring communities, old students’ association members of Daasabre, and members of the Kwahu diaspora.
Key among them include: Akyemfuo Asiedu Agyeman III, Abetifihene and Adontenhene of the Kwahu Traditional Area; Nana Simpe Wiredu III, Krontihene of Abene; Nana Asiedu Kwabeng, Akyeamehene of Abene; Nana Ntim Sampong II, Baamuhene of Abene; Baffour Kyerefuor Nyarko I, Werempehene of Abene; and representative from the Office of former President, John Agyekum Kufuor.
Others were the Kwahu Aduamoahene and Benkumhene of the area, Nana Ahiatutu Brempong II; Kwahu Pepeasehene, also the Kyidomhene, Nana Bonsu Ayirepe, and the Kwahu Queenmother, Nana Adwoa Gyamfua III.
Speakers at the event praised Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III for his humility, wisdom, and dedication, expressing confidence in his ability to lead Kwahu to greater heights.
The celebrations continued late into the night, with a dinner and fundraising ceremony to raise funds for the turnaround of Okwahu United, the football club of the Kwahu Traditional Council.
The atmosphere was filled with optimism and hope for a brighter future under the leadership of Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng III. The Kwahu Traditional Area, known for its rich history and vibrant culture, now looks forward to a new era of growth and prosperity under its newly outdoored Paramount Chief.
The display of Akan traditional drums, musical instruments, and tunes from the various subchiefs and their entourage to the applause of dignitaries who had come from all parts of the country remains a significant highlight of the ceremony.
