Stephen Amankona scored a hat-trick to inspire Berekum Chelsea to a 3-1 victory against relegation-threatened Accra Lions at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa following the resumption of the Ghana Premier League.Accra Lions grabbed a late consolation through Nigerian forward David Akintunde as their woes continue in the 2024/25 campaign.After a slow start to the game in Dormaa, the hosts broke the deadlock following a defensive mishap, as veteran forward Amankona took advantage to give the Blues the lead.Six minutes after the break, Chelsea doubled their advantage through Amankona after he converted from the spot following a penalty in the 50th minute.Amankona sealed his hat-trick with a third in the 71st minute as Chelsea dominated Lions in the second half.Following a series of changes from coach Rainer Kraft, the visitors pulled one back through a combination from Nigerian forward Lucky Nwafor and Akintunde, with the latter connecting for a late consolation.
