Newly assembled Black Stars technical is really strong â?? Desmond Ofei
Black Stars assistant coach, Desmond Ofei, has expressed confidence in the newly assembled technical team, describing it as strong and well-structured.Following Ghanas failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in 20 years, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has made significant changes to the teams technical setup.Despite widespread calls for his dismissal, Otto Addo has been retained as head coach, with John Paintsil and Desmond Ofei appointed as first and second assistant coaches, respectively.Fatau Dauda will continue as the goalkeepers trainer, while experienced German coach and 2002 AFCON winner with Cameroon, Winfried Schaffer, will take on the role of technical advisor and football director for both the Black Stars and the GFA.Additionally, Kris Perquy has been named the teams psychologist, while Gregory De Grauwe will serve as the video analyst.Sharing his thoughts on the revamped technical team, Ofei said, I feel like the setup looks really really strong with a very experienced technical advisor in the name of Shafar, so you know Winfried Shafar. I feel like the chemistry is going to be there.The Black Stars are set to regroup in March for their Matchday five and six fixtures in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where they will face Chad and Madagascar.
