President-elect John Dramani Mahama, has in accordance with the provisions of the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (ACT 845), appointed members of his side of the 2024 Transition Team.
A statement issued by Mr Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the President-elect had appointed Mr Julius Debrah as the Co-Chairperson of the Team while Dr Callistus Mahama is a Member/Secretary to the Transition Team.
Other members of the Joint Transition Team are: Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Mr Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, Dr Valerie Sawyer, Professor Kwamena Ahwoi, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, Mr Mahama Ayariga. Mr Goosie Tanoh, and Dr Edward Omane Boamah.
The statement said the Team would work closely with representatives of the out-going Government with a view to ensuring a smooth transfer of political power to the incoming administration.
It said the Transition Team was composed of experienced individuals drawn from various sectors, including finance, governance, and public administration.
The statement said additionally, the President-Elect had nominated Mr Edward Doe Adjaho as a member of the transitional Advisory Council.
