The Juapong D/A Junior High School (JHS) is set to commemorate its 25th anniversary, marking a quarter-century of dedication to academic excellence, community development and student empowerment.
The week-long celebration, themed ’25 Years of Academic Excellence: Celebrating Our Past, Embracing Our Future’, runs to Friday, October 10, 2025 at the school’s premises in Juapong, North Tongu district of the Volta Region.
The celebration will feature a variety of activities aimed at reflecting on the school’s journey, strengthening community ties and inspiring the next generation of learners.
The line-up includes a float through principal streets of Juapong on Tuesday to announce the commencement of the festivities, followed by a community clean-up exercise on Wednesday from Podoe Junction through to Juapong Post Office and Police Station.
On Thursday, October 9, the school will hold its grand durbar, which is expected to be the anniversary celebration’s highlight.
Distinguished guests expected to grace the occasion include Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; District Chief Executive for North Tongu, Madam Victoria Yawa Amefadzi Doe; and District Director of Education, Regina Isabella Ayimey. Also in attendance will be Veronica Mensah, former School Improvement and Support Officer (SISO) of Juapong Circuit A.
The celebration will climax on Friday, October 10 with a fun-filled day of indoor and outdoor games involving Juapong D/A JHS and its sister schools – a symbolic display of unity and youthful enthusiasm that has defined the school’s spirit over the years.
Chairperson-School Management Committee (SMC) Agamah Agbenyega, together with Forson Macarthy, Parent Teacher Association (P.T.A) Chairperson; Patience Yawa Dzifa Asempa, Headmistress; and Philip Atsu Tetteh, SISO for Juapong Circuit A, jointly extended an invitation to the general public, alumni and education stakeholders to join in celebrating this milestone.
Since its establishment in 2000, Juapong D/A JHS has remained a cornerstone of learning in the community, producing students who have excelled academically and contributed meaningfully to national development.
The 25th anniversary is not only a time for reflection but also an opportunity to reaffirm the school’s commitment to nurturing future leaders.
“This celebration is more than an anniversary. It is a testament to our community’s enduring commitment to education and a call to embrace the future with renewed purpose,” noted Madam Patience Asempa.
