Samsung has launched an online health hub, which it calls ‘’a groundbreaking digital health platform designed to transform how people monitor, manage and engage with their personal well-being.
Speaking at the launch, Musah Al-Hassan, Head of Mobile – Samsung Ghana, said:“Samsung Health is not just an app — it is a health ecosystem. With clinically approved features, we are empowering Ghanaians with trusted health insights right at their fingertips.”
The launch in Ghana follows the release of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 by the company in July of this year. Under the company’s motto of “Your Health in Your Hands, the tech giants seek to expand this E-health platform across the country.
The launch, attended by health practitioners and stakeholders in the Ghanaian tech community, demonstrated how the Galaxy Watch 8 and Samsung Health Monitor app deliver clinically approved health monitoring features.
According to the company, these features – including Blood Pressure, ECG and Sleep Apnea detection – have been validated and approved by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) in Ghana, ensuring local credibility and reliability.
Addressing attendees at the programme, a representative from Melcom Group and director of Active8, Rishi Melwani, stated: “As the parent company of ACTIV8, we are proud to collaborate with Samsung to bring innovation into everyday wellness. This partnership reflects our joint commitment to preventive care and healthier communities.”
With the country struggling to meet its health goals, the introduction of this platform serves as a welcome addition to the resources needed to ensure effective healthcare. It provides a solution to the country’s health problems as outlined by the Ministry of Health in the National E-Health strategy.
The development of our health infrastructure has lagged behind as a result of continuing poor investments in the health sector…We need to apply technology to generate the information required for the formulation of precise health policies, enabling us to meet our needs.
