The National Lottery Authority (NLA), through Causes Foundation – an entity that spearheads NLA’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), has handed over a toilet facility to the Mpintsin community in the Sekondi-Takoradi municipality.
The facility, according to the NLA, is to ensure good public health.
According to Deputy General Director-NLA, Madam Horman Akaisi Miezah, Mpintsin is an old town that is developing with a lot of households springing up within the community; but unfortunately, there are some houses without toilets and this is not good for the people.
“The only one within the community is not in good shape, hence the need for a new one since NLA is there to support the good people of Ghana, in terms of health and education communities” she explained.
She praised the town’s chief for releasing land to erect the toilet facility, and encouraged the community to keep their environment clean as well as maintain it.
Nana Yadae Kojo IV, Chief of Mpintsin, commended the NLA for their timely intervention.
“We are happy this facility has been constructed within few months to prevent open defecation, since the old one was not in good shape,” he added.
