
The Constitution Review Committee (CRC) has announced a series of stakeholder and public engagements as part of its efforts to gather nationwide input on proposed amendments to Ghana’s Constitution.
These engagements will include targeted consultations with experts and organizations, as well as open forums for the general public at zonal locations across the country.
To facilitate a structured review process, the CRC is inviting written submissions from thematic experts, public institutions, professional bodies, trade unions, civil society organizations, and political parties.
These submissions will focus on key thematic areas, including:
- Lands and Natural Resources
- Decentralization, Local Government, and Chieftaincy
- Public Services and Enterprises
- The Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary
- Independent Constitutional Bodies
- Political Parties and Governance Structures
- Social and Economic Rights, National Development Policy, and Discretionary Power
Submissions on these topics must be received by March 20, 2025, with specific deadlines for each category.
The CRC will also hold open public discussions in various regions to allow citizens to contribute their views. The engagements will take place in Accra, Tamale, Bolgatanga, Wa, Kumasi, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Koforidua, and Ho, starting from April 7 through May 6, 2025.
How to Participate
The Committee has provided multiple channels for public participation:
- Email Submissions: Memoranda can be sent to [email protected]
- Online Portal: Contributions can be submitted via www.constitutionreviewgh.org
- In-Person Submissions: Written documents can be delivered to the CRC Secretariat at the Office of the President Annex, Ridge-Accra (Digital Address: GA-079-8344).
The CRC has emphasized the importance of broad public participation in shaping constitutional reforms that reflect national aspirations.
