Former National Sports Authority Board Chairman Kwadwo Baah Agyemang has labeled Black Stars coach Otto Addo as a "qualification expert" while acknowledging the coach has proven his doubters wrong with Ghana's impressive World Cup qualifying campaign.
Speaking after Ghana's 5-0 thrashing of Central African Republic, Agyemang admitted Addo had "shamed" him with his tactical improvement since the Mali game, stating "He has changed a lot since the Mali game. In other words, he is learning."
However, the former sports administrator expressed skepticism about Addo's ability to compete at the highest level, asserting "We will surely be at the World Cup, but Otto Addo can't lead us to face teams like Spain, Italy, Portugal, Brazil and Argentina. He is a qualification expert and he has taken us there, now we should look at the bench again."
Addo is set to become the first Ghanaian coach to qualify the national team for two World Cups, having previously guided the Black Stars to the 2022 tournament.
His current qualifying campaign remains unbeaten with six wins from seven games, needing just one point from Sunday's match against Comoros to secure Ghana's place at the 2026 World Cup.
