Italian-born Ghanaian forward Sidney Powell Osei has officially joined Portuguese Liga Portugal 2 side CS Maritimo on a free transfer, penning a two-year contract with the club.
The 21-year-old arrives from Trofense, a third-tier Portuguese outfit, and is expected to feature prominently for MarÃtimo’s U23 squad during the 2025/26 campaign.
Osei's return to Madeira marks a homecoming of sorts, having previously played for Maritimo in the 2022/23 season.
His familiarity with the environment and style of play could provide a strong foundation for him to rediscover his best form and push for a quick elevation into the senior setup.
In a club statement, Maritimo confirmed the forward will initially join their U23 squad, but hinted at the possibility of him being promoted to the first team depending on his performances.
With his towering presence and goal-scoring instincts, Osei has the tools to become a valuable asset for the club.
Born in Udinese to Ghanaian parents, Sidney Osei remains eligible to represent Ghana at the international level.
With a blend of European tactical training and Ghanaian flair, he is a player worth keeping an eye on as he aims to take his career to the next level in the Portuguese football system.
