After featuring in the Swedish Cup and making his Allsvenskan debut in early 2023, he was loaned out to GIF Sundsvall where he gained vital experience over a season and a half in the Superettan.
Returning to Norrkoping ahead of the 2025 season, Oppong impressed throughout the spring and quickly established himself as one of the league’s most promising defenders.
In a farewell message, Oppong expressed deep appreciation:
"I would like to convey my sincere gratitude to everyone at IFK Norrkoping - the management, staff, teammates, and supporters. I have grown so much here, both as a player and as a person. Thank you for your incredible support and for making me feel like part of the family."
Sporting director Magni Fannberg praised Oppong’s journey and the club’s role in it:
"This is a very positive transition for us. Kojo’s development has been remarkable, and I want to credit our staff and player group for creating an environment that helped him thrive. We’ll follow his progress closely and wish him all the best in France."
The move to Nice represents a major milestone for Oppong, who now steps onto one of Europe’s most competitive stages - ready for a new challenge, and backed by a strong foundation from his time in Sweden.
