Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang Badu says the recent broadcast partnership deal between the Ghana Football Association and Adisa Production Limited offers an opportunity to make the Ghanaian top-flight competitive again.
The new partnership will see each Ghana Premier League club pocket a sum of GHS 1 million before the start of the season.
Additionally, clubs will also receive reasonable amounts of money based on their finish in the league log, promoting healthy competition and encouraging teams to strive for excellence.
This initiative aims to boost the economic impact of clubs in the Ghana Premier League, potentially attracting more investments and sponsorships into the sport.
“The new Ghana Premier League broadcast deal offers a huge opportunity to make our league competitive. Aside, the GHC1m awarded to the clubs, all the participating Premier League teams are entitled to some reasonable amounts of money based on their finish in the league log. For me, this will propel the club to approach the season with all seriousness. I think we are going to get one of the competitive leagues in Africa” he said.
The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League will kick off on the weekend of September 12.
