
Ghanaian international Christopher Antwi-Adjei played a key role for Schalke 04 on Friday evening, helping the team to secure an important 2-1 win against Hertha Berlin to kick off the new German Bundesliga 2 season on a positive note.
The winger started for the hosts on the matchday and used his quality and experience to help his side.
In the match played at Veltins Arena, Schalke 04 took the lead after 16 minutes when Peter Remmert set up Moussa Sylla to score.
Shortly after that goal, Christopher Antwi-Adjei assisted Nikola Katic to equalise in the 23rd minute, doubling the lead for the home team to ensure a comfortable lead at the break.
Hertha Berlin came in strong in the second half, but the team could only net a consolation goal.
Sebastian Gronning Andersen grabbed the consolation late in the 89th minute. The defense of Schalke 04 stood strong in the dying minutes to ensure they earned all three points at the end of the contest.
Christopher Antwi-Adjei, 31, played 77 minutes of the game before making way for Bryan Lasme.
The experienced attacker will be playing a key role for Schalke 04 throughout the season.
