The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League fixture list has been unveiled â and one of the biggest highlights is the early Super Clash between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, scheduled for Matchday 5.
The clash between Ghana’s most successful and popular clubs will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium, promising fireworks early in the season. With both sides under pressure to reclaim their dominance after recent underwhelming campaigns, the timing of the clash is expected to set the tone for the rest of the title race.
Hearts of Oak, under coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, will begin their season at home against new boys Hohoe United, as the Phobians look to avoid early slip-ups. With Aboubakar Ouattara also brought in as Special Advisor, expectations are high in the capital.
Asante Kotoko, led by newly confirmed head coach Karim Zito, open their campaign away to Berekum Chelsea â a tough ground where they dropped points last season. Buoyed by their recent Toyota Cup and President’s Cup victories, Kotoko are also eyeing a strong start ahead of continental duties.
The league is set to kick off on the weekend of September 12, 2025, and end on May 24, 2026, just before the FIFA World Cup. But all eyes will be on Matchday 5, when Ghana's football giants collide in a high-stakes early-season showdown in Accra.
