
Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ibrahim stole the spotlight with a goal as Slovan Bratislava cruised to a 4-1 win over Zeleziarne Podbrezova in Round 2 of the Slovak Fortuna Liga on Saturday evening.
Playing at home in Tehelné pole, Slovan started strong, taking the lead in the 10th minute through David Strelec. Podbrezova hit back through Matus Marcin, but a penalty from Tigran Barseghyan just before the break gave the hosts a 2-1 lead.
Rahim Ibrahim, full of energy and purpose, impressed the fans with his movement and ball control. His moment came in the 84th minute when he calmly slotted home Slovan’s third after a smart assist from Marko Tolic. The goal was a reward for a lively display that had the home fans cheering his name.
Róbert Mak added the final goal in the 89th minute, capping off a dominant night for the league leaders.
Rahim Baidoo also featured, playing the full match. Slovan now shift focus to their Champions League qualifier against Kairat Almaty next week.
