Promising midfielder Akwasi Owusu has officially joined Danish 2nd Division side Vendsyssel FF on a one-year contract, marking an important new chapter in his young career.
The 19-year-old, who was born in Denmark to Ghanaian parents, arrives on a free transfer following his departure from Danish top-tier club FC Midtjylland earlier this summer.
Owusu, known for his dynamism and technical ability, brings with him a strong development background, having come through the youth systems of both Midtjylland and FC Nordsjaelland - two clubs renowned for nurturing top talent.
Vendsyssel will be hoping to benefit from his energy and creativity as they aim to bounce back from relegation and challenge at the top end of the 2nd Division table.
Speaking after the deal was confirmed, Owusu shared his excitement about the new opportunity.
“I am happy to have signed with Vendsyssel FF. It is an exciting club that I hope to contribute positively to, so that we can fight at the top this season and give our fans a lot to look forward to,” he told the club’s official website.
Vendsyssel’s Sporting Director, Jens Hammer Sorensen, also praised the acquisition, highlighting the youngster’s work ethic and well-rounded skillset:
“Akwasi is an exciting, young midfielder... we look forward to him developing and unleashing his potential in the white Vendsyssel jersey.”
