The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akuapem South Constituency, Lawrencia Dziwornu, has stressed that the government of Ghana must provide all the support the Black Queens need to win the next edition of the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Black Queens, fresh off winning bronze at the 2024 WAFCON, visited Parliament on Tuesday, July 29.
Speaking on the floor of parliament, Lawrencia Dziwornu argued that the Black Queens have performed better than the Black Stars in recent times and need to be pushed to achieve greater things.
"Mr. Speaker, I dare say that our national women's team have performed better in recent times than their male counterparts and therefore they deserve all the support they need to advance in the next WAFCON and bring the trophy to Ghana,” Lawrencia Dziwornu said.
The Black Queens, after returning from Morocco at the end of the WAFCON, have been celebrated for what has been described as an impressive performance at the tournament.
Many believe that with continued support and investment, the Queens will conquer the continent at the next WAFCON.
