Clifford Danquah has been crowned champion of Betway Ghana’s inaugural Aviator Legends tournament, walking away with a GH?500,000 cash prize following a high-stakes finale held on Thursday, July 24 at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.
The competition, which spanned several weeks, brought together thousands of participants from across the country, all vying for a spot among the top eight finalists. These finalists faced off at the grand finale in what organisers described as one of the most competitive digital gaming events staged locally.
The Aviator Legends tournament is based on Betway’s popular Aviator game, which combines skill, timing and risk management. The event drew widespread attention online and offline, reflecting growing interest in digital gaming in the country.
The Country Manager – Marketing for Betway Ghana, Kwabena Oppong-Nkrumah, said: “This competition has been a celebration of skill, strategy and smart play. I’m proud to see such talent and passion from our players.
“Clifford Danquah’s win is a testament to the spirit of Ghanaian gamers. Betway remains committed to creating platforms that reward our players while promoting exciting and responsible entertainment.”
The Aviator Legends winner, Danquah, expressed surprise and gratitude after his victory. “I still can’t believe it,” he said.
“Aviator is more than just a game; it’s about trusting your instincts and knowing when to leap. I’m grateful to Betway for creating this platform for players in Ghana.”
Organisers said the tournament was designed to showcase the capabilities of Ghanaian gamers and to strengthen Betway’s positioning in the digital gaming space.
The grand prize, one of the largest awarded in a local gaming contest, marks a new milestone for the brand’s engagement efforts in the country.
With the success of the Aviator Legends series, Betway said it plans to build on the momentum by launching more interactive campaigns that offer entertainment and value to its customer base.
The company has reiterated its focus on responsible gaming and innovation as it expands its footprint in Ghana’s fast-growing digital entertainment market.
