NGO Humanitarian Alarm; donates medical equipment to Health Post in South Dayi.

Humanitarian Alarm, a non-governmental organization has presented number medical equipment’s and consumables valued at GHc 80,000 to the management of South Dayi Health post in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region.

The donation was part of activities making the 40th birthday of the Executive Director of Humanitarian Alarm Mr. Elom Ohene, a philanthropist and a businessman.

The items includes walking aids, wheel chairs, SP monitors, clutches, insulin syringes, urinary bags, surgical chairs, face and nose masks, diapers, used clothes etc.

Making the donation, Mr. Elom Ohene said the donation is his contribution towards the effective running of the Health Post, adding that he felt the need to give back to his homeland.

“Being a native from the area, I feel it is my basic responsibility to make my impact felt on my community and the nation as a whole since the Almighty God has opened the way for me to succeed in life”. He noted.

He assured the management of the Health Post of more assistance in the coming year and advised them to ensure proper maintenance of the items.

The Superintendent in charge of the Health Post Mrs. Matilda Taavi receiving the items expressed great appreciation for the kind gesture and called for closer collaboration between the two (2) institutions in improving the healthcare of inhabitants of the close to 600 inhabitants that utilize the facility.

She said the donations came handy and timely since it will boost the delivery of services to its marginalized patients.

Mrs. Taavi appealed to other citizens of the area to emulate the example of Mr. Elom Ohene Brown to enable the Health Post provides the required health care service for people in the area.

In a separate but similar donation at the Peki- Adzokoe Health Post, Mr. Elom Ohene, urged the community and the youth in particular to adopt preventive approaches to good health like regular hand washing habits, regular exercise, good rest and well balanced diets in order to maintain good health.

Togbe Drah Kojo IV chief of Adzokoe and Mrs. Gladys Amenyenu of the Health Post receiving the items said the facility will put to good use the items.

A representative of the D.C.E, Mr Francis Asieni charged the health facilities to take utmost care of the equipment stressing a lack of maintenance in the country had contributed to a lot of resources being wasted.

The team also paid a brief visit to the good shepherd aged home at Peki- Blengo where they interacted with the aged, worshipped and refreshed them.

Madam Ella Boateng the care taker of the home was full of praises for the team and wished Humanitarian Alarm success in all its endeavours across the country. 

Humanitarian Alarm NGO was full of praise and thanks to their partners and donors Rev. & Mrs Oscar Kuma of Massachusettes for their benevolence in making this donation a successful one. Similar the NGO was grateful for the support given by Mr. Ferdinand Reimer of the Brock University, Ontario Canada and also the Covenant Family care Mission, Joni and Friends-Ghana for the wheelchairs.
