The Director of Strategy at Penplusbytes, Ms. Juliet Adime Amoah has been appointed as the new Executive Director of the organization.
The announcement made by the Board of Directors on Wednesday December 19, 2018 added that, effective January 1, 2019, Ms. Amoah will take over the affairs of Penplusbytes.
The Founder and Executive Director of Penplusbytes, Kwami Ahiabenu II will step down by the close of this year, 2018.
In a press release copied to Ultimatefmonline, it said “Ms. Amoah has nearly 20 years of experience in running multinational organisations, entrepreneurship development, and training and communication initiatives.she has also served in several senior positions including a Deputy Director, British Council, Accra and Business Development Manager, Africa Parliamentary Centre.
Juliet Adime holds Masters Degrees in Social Policy Studies from University of Ghana; New Media, Governance and Democracy from University of Leicester; and Executive Master of Governance and Leadership (EMGL) from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Meanwhile outgoing Executive Director, Kwame Ahiabenu II, recounting his moments with Penplusbytes has pledged to continuously work closely with the institution and share his experiences.
“It has been a fantastic 18 years and none of us could have predicted how well the organisation has developed from a standing start back in 2001. I’m very proud of the achievements and awards we have received, but I just feel it is time to let someone else define the next chapter in the organisation’s development and for me to explore some new avenues”.
Ms Amoah, in her acceptance, commented, “This is undoubtedly a great responsibility and I am grateful for the opportunity to be contributing to the promotion of effective governance using new digital technologies which is the Penplusbytes forté. I look forward to driving the development and growth of the organisation and intend to devote significant time and effort to pursuing cross-border opportunities in order to strengthen our global footprint.”
On his part, Byan Pearson, Chair of Penplusbytes Board of Directors said “Kwami informed us of his intention about a year ago. He has been the monumental inspiration behind the organisation and we of course wish him every success for the future. But we are very excited to have Juliet on board and her expertise and track record will be invaluable in steering Penplusbytes confidently into the future. With Kwami remaining closely involved as well as being on the Board, the transition should be seamless and successful.”
Furthermore Dr. Charity Binka, Board Vice-Chair added that, “It has been a privilege to watch Penplusbytes grow under the inspirational leadership of Kwami. We cannot thank him enough. But Juliet is supremely qualified to move the agenda forward, and having the support of Kwami behind her, we are entirely confident of Penplusbytes continued growth and achievement.
