Knowledge sharing and training platform of the No Business As Usual Hub in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti region “Ignite,” has taken a rather maverick but debatable subject of the changing roles of the female gender in the ever evolving economic and social lifestyles of the age.
Ignite4.0 sought to elucidate on the household and occupational demands of a woman and how today’s professional and working woman can live a balanced life on both scales.
Corporate Trainer and Ultimate FM’s Mother Supremo Mrs Rita Krampah who addressed the all female participants; demystified some engrained societal notions about the inability of women to work for a long while even after uncomplicated birth.
She took young ladies on; about the ills children are learning because mothers have left them to be socialized by telenovelas and maid servants.
Mrs Krampah outlined the importance of women doing a good introspection of their responsibilities, itemizing them and planning with their spouses and children how to live an organized life.
She took it hard on ladies who leave their homes unkempt and choose to walk tattered in their homes; young ladies who turn up late for every event; ladies who jump at every sway and people who keep giving excuses for everything on the basis that they are women.
Registered Pharmacist, Health Coach, caterer and Chief Executive of Perfect Health Ghana Mrs.Francisca Ampratwum delivered a presentation on the different sphere of a woman’ life that needs to be deliberately organised.
She dwelt on the four pillars of organising the mind; organising one’s space; the need for young ladies to organize their goals and organize their actions.
Speaking to Ultimate News’ Priscilla Gyan, manager of the NBU Hub,Mr Samuel Aboagye indicated that his outfit decided to use its Ignite Platform to target a specific need pertaining to women development.
He explained, “Ignite is to help participants have a direction and inspiration in life. This time we decided to focus on women so we could address issues that pertain specifically to women
“The issues that were discussed today bordered around how they could manage their homes well and how they can manage their time and how they can be effective and compete better at the work place,” he added.
The young ladies who had the opportunity to have group break out sessions and an interactive question and answer time came out empowered and excited about the lessons they had absorbed from the program.
“I have learnt how to set boundaries and not continue tolerating calls from friends that end up burdening you and depriving you of valuable time you could use to manage your varied responsibilities as a woman,” A trainee commended.
A young entrepreneur pointed out, “It’s been an educative program and I think the facilitators did a good job on the topics of our health, how to set goals and how to manage our lives as women so that one aspect of our lives is not dying while we are busy pursuing the other things,”
Another participant told Ultimate News, “It was very educative I learnt something about the Google planner and I also learnt how to take care of my health because our health is our wealth.”
The NBU Hub is funded by the European Union and the SOS Children’s Village with support from the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly to train, support and empower youth in employability and entrepreneurial skills to reduce the burden of unemployment in the Municipality.
