A/R: Odotobri Rural Bank Opens New Branch at Santasi

The 2017 Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) Rural Bank of the Year, Odotobri Rural Bank has opened for business, its twelfth branch at Santasi in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.

Already showing a strong presence across the region, the bank’s new branch adds on to the Obuasi, Asawasi, Krofrom, Agric Nzema, Maakro, Ayigya, Bantama, Old Tafo, Roman Hill, Obuasi branches and Jacobu headquarters.

Established in September 1982 in the Amansie Central District, Odotobri Rural Bank has since served its customers with banking products such as Savings/Current/Business Accounts, Fixed Deposits, Local and International Money Transfers and Flexible Loan Schemes.

Speaking to Ultimate Business after the commissioning ceremony on Thursday, November 29, Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Siaka Baaba Ahmed mentioned that putting customers at the centre of whatever they did, being hardworking, dedicated and understanding the needs of their clients had propelled them to the current level.

He also explained that Odotobri had set out a deliberate plan to capture especially the small medium enterprises and also get closer to their existing and prospective customers around the Santasi enclave.

“Some of our customers complained of moving downtown to have banking services, so we decided to come closer to them and besides we realized there was a lot of untapped market in this area that we can take advantage of.”

“Most of the banks here are universal banks, so there are a lot people they leave behind and we, understand the language of small medium enterprises better”, Siaka Baaba Ahmed added.

The Odotobri Rural Bank Boss revealed the bank will not relent when it comes to leveraging technology to introduce tailor-made products and further improve its work for customer satisfaction.

“We want to launch our mobile app before the end of the year 2018 and that is an add-on to the ATM.

“We have now introduced bancassurance, child education, funeral policy and investment policy. We want to be a one stop-shop and we’re now bringing motor-vehicle policy so that our customers can easily buy their motor policies; we want to cover everything.”
