Court Proceedings at the Suhum Circuit Court were on Thursday disrupted by bereaved family members in disagreement to a bail application granted by the Court to an accused driver who crashed to death two persons and injured severely one other person at Addo -Nkwanta near Suhum in the Eastern Region.
The Court was compelled by the tense atmosphere and altercations to end Court proceedings for the day.
According to the angry family members and residents of Addo-Nkwanta, the accused is notorious for careless driving which they claim have led to deaths of several persons in the neighbouring communities along the Koforidua to Suhum road however, always set free but this time, have vowed to ensure that justice is served.
The accused, Solomon Adjololo made his first appearance before Suhum circuit court on seven charges which are careless and inconsiderate driving, three counts of negligently causing harm, failing to report accident and falling to attended to injured persons.
These charges seem to be weak because the accused doesn’t have drivers’ license and was driving unregistered vehicle raising public suspicion.
The accused was represented by two Lawyers when he appeared in Court today.
Prosecution pleaded with the court to remand accused due to sensitive nature of the case.
Prosecution indicated that should the court grant the accused bail, it is likely to trigger chaos due to the tension in the community.
But the Defense counsels disagreed and prayed the court to grant their client bail since it was a bailable offence.
The court agreed with the defense counsel and granted accused bail in the sum of GHC 50,000.00 with three sureties and case adjourned to November 16, 2017.
This infuriated the bereaved family members to cause commotion in court and disrupted the court proceedings.
Tension were very high hence court abruptly ended proceedings.

Background
The accused person, on October 4, 2017 crashed to death two persons and injured one other at Suhum-Addo -Nkwanta, a community along the Suhum to Koforidua road.
The deceased persons are Michael Ohene Asare,9, and Emmanuel Kankam Manteaw, a 27- year old level 200 distance Education student of University of Education, Winneba.
One other person identified as Giovanni also suffered life threatening injuries.
The deceased persons and the victim were sitting behind an Indomie fast food vendor at the roadside when the unregistered Toyota Camry heading towards Suhum veered off its lane and run into them killing two persons at the spot, injuring one person while three others escaped death.
Esther Larbi, the Ndomie seller told Ultimate News, the incident occurred around 9:30 to 10pm.
She said the Toyota Camry which was speeding from Koforidua to Suhum suddenly veered off the road and ran into where she was selling the fast food but was able to escape.
She said the driver of the vehicle, a rastaman fled into the bush after the accident.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Suhum Hospital morgue.
The driver who crashed to death two persons at Addo -Nkwankta near Suhum in the Eastern Region has turned himself into the Police on Tuesday six days after the accident.
The Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh confirmed to Ultimate News that, the suspect Solomon Adjoloo alias Rasta on Tuesday at about 5:40pm accompanied by his Lawyer, Leonard Sedzro reported himself to Suhum Police.
He said the suspect was arrested and detained to assist in investigation.
Meanwhile, the Suhum Municipal Police Command has put before Court, Kwabena Daniel who impersonated as a suspect driver after the accident.
He has been charged for deceiving public officer.
The accused pleaded guilty when charged with the offence, but candidly confessed that he was not the person driving the car when the accident occurred but was influenced by the main suspect, Solomon Adjoloo alias Rasta to claim responsibility for the accident to save him from prosecution because he (Solomon Adjoloo ) does not have driving license.
After his explanation a plea of not guilty was entered by the court for him.
He was then granted bail in the sum of GHC10,000.00 with one surety to re-appear on October 18, 2017 for the trial to begin.
