The Dagomba Chief in Takoradi, Chief Mohammed Abubakar is accusing the Western Regional Police command of protecting thieves and drug peddlers at Amanful.
His comment follows the aftermath of a bloody clash that ensued between some youths from Effiakuma and Amanful that resulted in the arrest of 8 persons.
The clash ensued when a youth from Amanful snatched a mobile phone and some monies from a Dagomba youth from Effiakuma.
In an attempt to retrieve the said phone and money resulted in a serious scuffle which attracted youth groups from both sides.
Empire news’ Emmanuel Ohene Gyan reported that a livid Dagomba chief wondered why the police stationed at Amanful have failed to crack the whip on the youth in the area for engaging in such nefarious acts.
This according to Chief Abubakar can only mean the police are condoning crimes and not enforcing law and order in the area.
