Everton and Watford are also targeting the 27-year-old full-back positions. However, there is strong interest right across Europe with AC Milan in Serie A, La Liga's Sevilla and Marseille in France all tracking his situation.
Although Augsburg is hoping Opare signs a new deal to keep him in Bundesliga, they have so far been unable to reach any kind of agreement over terms.
This development makes the club vulnerable to losing the defender on a free transfer at the end of the season.
