It is the first of it’s kind and really took fashion designer some years of practice to perfect her skill of braiding after learning from hair stylists in Africa.
“I grew up in Ghana, I went to school there when my family moved over. So I saw the real African technique of braiding. I started learning myself because I am left-handed. I have been braiding hair since I was twelve. I have been braiding my family members hair. It’s really years and years of learning.
When I cut my hair, my natural locks, I couldn’t braid anymore but I still loved the hair art, the braiding technique,” Alice Pokua Oppong told BBC.
Now based in West Germany, Aachen, Alice has launched a handmade couture sew from synthetic hair extensions.
