President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia joined other mourners in paying tribute to the mother of the Chief of Staff.
Mary Osei Kwartemaa, mother of the Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Opare died at age 98.

The burial was preceded by a funeral service at the Jubilee park in Kumasi in the Ashanti region on Saturday, November 4.
The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), including Acting General Secretary and Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, was at the the funeral to pay their last respect.
General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu-Nketia, former Regional Minister, John Alexander Ackon and former deputy, Joseph Yamin also led the party to mourn with the Chief of Staff.

Highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, Gospel artiste, Evangelist Diana Asamoah, head coach of the Black Stars Kwesi Appiah were also present to climax the funeral. Mourners had the opportunity to commiserate with the family over their loss.
