Ghana must win in Kampala to keep hopes alive
The Black Stars of Ghana have arrived in Kampala ahead of a World Cup qualifier against the Cranes of Uganda.
The 21 member team arrived at Entebbe International Airport on Thursday evening according to Kawowo Sports and were met on arrival by FUFA officials Lawrence Kizito and Richard Nandigobe.
Ghana is currently third in the group behind their opponents for Saturday and leaders Egypt and will need positive results at the Namboole Stadium and in Alexandria if Congo can pull a surprise.
Kwai Appiah’s preparation was derailed by the forced absences of six members of his team as they camped in Nairobi but said he was satisfied with the preparation they had been put through.
Appiah is likely to name either Club African defender Nicholas Opoku or Young Boys defender Kassim Adams at center back in partnership with Leicester City player Daniel Amartey. He could also fall on Hearts of Oak defender Vincent Atinga after his impressive showing at the recent WAFU tournament.
