But, government of Ghana failed to honour their promise of getting the Black Stars a chartered flight for their return trip from Brazzaville to Accra.
Asamoah Gyan stepped in to rescue the situation by paying a whopping amount of GHC 272, 800 ($62,000) for a chartered flight to Accra.
It was a big sigh of relief to the playing body of the team, since they would come by a commercial flight which would have delayed the reporting time to their various clubs overseas.
